FERPA

Student disciplinary records are education records protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act  of 1974 (FERPA).  Faculty should be aware that any information recorded in any form regarding a student's disciplinary case may be reviewed by the student per FERPA.  For specific information about FERPA and ODU, please consult the Office of the University Registrar's Website: http://www.odu.edu/ao/registrar/about/policies/ferpa.shtml.  The full text of the FERPA regulations may be viewed online at: http://www.ed.gov/policy/gen/guid/fpco/pdf/ferparegs.pdf.
