Old Dominion University's Office of Student Activities & Leadership (OSAL) has many leadership opportunities available. The Leadership Lecture Series offers leadership-focused programs throughout each semester to give students the opportunity to build on current leadership skills. Start your leadership journey, sign up for the Leadership Lecture Series. Students who complete three or more sessions receive a Leadership Certificate.

The Rights and Responsibilities of Students at a Public University

Students who attend Old Dominion University are attending an institution which prides itself on being a place at which students may learn and grow both inside and outside of the classroom. Part of this growth is learning what one is responsible for as a college student and understanding one's rights as well. College students attending any university and a publicly funded one such as ODU in particular have certain responsibilities and certain rights provided to them as citizens and as consumers of educational services. This presentation will provide an introduction to those rights and responsibilities explain where they come from and answer questions from attendees.
Your Life and Legacy: Social Responsibility and the College Student

In this session, we explore the role of the college student as leader in a family, community, society and world. Institutions of higher education afford individuals the opportunity to develop and expand skills, knowledge and networks which enhance and sustain lives. Universities build social capital, as well as human capital. Students participating in this session will be encouraged to contemplate the significance of their lives, to decide how they matter and to employ their resources to create an impact.
True Colors
