Interfraternity Council
Please join the men of the IFC for their upcoming recruitment event:

  • Fraternity Fest '07 on Tuesday, September 4th, 12:30pm - 1:30pm on the Kaufman Mall in front of Webb Center.  Come and check out all 9 of the IFC fraternities at ODU.

Panhellenic Council
Please join the women of the PHC at their upcoming sorority recruitment events:

  • Sorority Showcase, Thursday, September 4th, 6pm - 8pm, Hampton/Newport News Room, Webb Center.  This is a "come and go" event where you can learn more about the 5 PHC sororities and get signed up for Fall Formal Recruitment.
  • 2008 Fall Formal Recruitment, September 11th - 14th
    Pick up a Sorority Recruitment book in the OSAL office, or download the book and registration form below.  All materials must be submitted by September 11th to participate.

National Pan-Hellenic Council
Please join the fraternities and sororities of the NPHC at their upcoming event:

  • NPHC Meet the Greeks, Tuesday, September 11th, 7pm in the North Cafeteria of Webb Center.  The 6 historically African-American chapters and our 3 Multicultural chapters will be on hand to introduce themselves and tell about their membership intake processes.

  • The right to be treated as an individual.
  • The right to be fully informed about the recruitment/intake process.
  • The right to ask questions and receive true and objective answers for recruitment guides and chapter members.
  • The right to be treated with respect.
  • The right to be treated as a capable and mature person without being patronized.
  • The right to ask how and why and received straight answers.
  • The right to have and express opinions to chapter members.
  • The right to make informed choices without undue pressure from others.
  • The right to make ones own choice and decision and accept full responsibility for the results of that decision.
  • The right to have a positive, safe and enriching recruitment/intake experience.

  • Why did you join your chapter?
  • How many members are in your chapter?
  • What are the financial obligations of joining your chapter?
  • How much does it REALLY cost?
  • What are the other requirements of joining this chapter?
  • How will this chapter help me succeed academically?
  • How much time will I have to set aside for my Greek involvement?
  • Can this chapter guarantee that I won't be hazed?
  • What did you look for when you were exploring Greek Life at ODU?
  • What is this chapter "known" for on campus?
  • What is your involvement with other Greek chapters on campus?
  • What will happen if I have a class conflict and have to miss a meeting or event?
  • What are the advantages of being a member of this chapter?
  • What does this chapter have to offer me?
  • How important is community service to your chapter?
