Community Service
Service to others is an important part of all that we do. Through the Center for Community Service, we provide many opportunities for students, faculty and staff to volunteer and truly make a difference in the lives of others. The center publishes a Volunteer Guide and coordinates various activities such as a Volunteer Fair, Kindness Days, and Make a Difference Days.
The service theme that we have adopted promises to "enrich the quality of life for students by providing diverse educational opportunities for personal growth and development." Other service opportunities throughout the year include American Red Cross blood drives, Alternative Spring Break, Victory Junction Gang/Hole in the Wall Gang trips, American Cancer Society Relay for Life and various other projects.
The Center for Community Service is designed to connect students with local volunteer opportunities both on and off campus. The center has information about numerous non-profit agencies and their volunteer opportunities, books about volunteering and service learning, as well as a computer to access the C.A.R.E . website to search for volunteer opportunities. If you have any questions or need assistance in finding or participating in community service projects just stop by the center - we are eager to assist you.
