Community Service
Adopt-A-Spot
This program is designed to provide student organizations or groups of students at ODU an opportunity to play an active and ongoing role in helping keep ODU looking beautiful!
The Center for Community Service and the Office of Facilities Management have partnered to give student organizations or a group of students the opportunity to give back to the University by lending a hand in the beautification of the campus grounds. Participating organizations/groups will be asked to commit to maintaining their spot for two semesters. Adopt-A-Spot @ ODU days will be one Friday a month (listed below) for about 1 to 2 hours. On Adopt days each organization should send a maximum of 10 and minimum of 3 volunteers during the designated time to maintain the cleanliness and attractiveness of their "spot." All supplies (tools, gloves, garbage bags, safety vests, etc) will be provided by Facilities Management and a sign will be proudly displayed in the assigned area showcasing the sponsoring organization/group's name.
In order to participate, an organization or group of students should:
- Identify at least two members of your organization willing to serve as Team Leaders. Team Leaders must attend an orientation session and be responsible for overseeing their members during the clean-up efforts. At least one Team Leader must be present during each clean-up time and will assume responsibility for returning borrowed supplies to Facilities Management.
- Complete the Adopt-A-Spot @ ODU Participation Request Form (PDF).
