SGA 2013 Budget Hearings
We hope all is well. It is now time for the annual organizational budget hearing process! This will be the first year that the entire process will be on OrgSync.
We hope that you will find this new process easier than last year’s. There is a PowerPoint presentation available here. This provides step-by-step directions on how to put in all of your requests. There will also be a budget lab hosted by the Student Government Association that will further explain the process, and the Student Government Financial Director, Otis Johnson Jr., and Student Government Treasurer, Marietta Medrana, with any questions or concerns you may have about the process.
Keep in mind that budgets are due February 8, and budget hearings will take place February 10 through February 28 excluding Valentine’s Day (February 14) and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). Once budget hearings have been processed and the requests have been discussed, Points and Standards will be applied.
Points and Standards are organizational requirements for all organizations that are recognized by the SGA and receive annual budgets from the SGA. This year’s Points and Standards are a bit different. There are no major changes, but the requirements are more straightforward than previous years. Please go to the SGA OrgSync page and view the “SGA Points & Standards Form” under the Forms link on the left-hand side of the page to review them.
The SGA Budget Lab will be on February 1, 2013 in the Hampton Newport New Room in the Webb Center.
Points and Standards will be due on April 5, 2013.
