Hello everyone... I'm Adarsh and I just want to give an outline of myself. I’m a Master's student from India. I'm a very jovial kind of  person who believes in living life KING size. I am a fun-loving person. I like watching cricket, movies, and listening to rock music. I am a foodie, so, I try different kinds of cuisines all the time; but nothing beats my hometown—south Indian food. In all, I am a very simple guy who has no complications in life and I like to live life in black and white shades.... That’s all about me!

Hello!!! My name is Alexis Anderson and I am a senior here at ODU. I am a Professional Communication major and I plan to work with Event Planning and Public Relations when I graduate in May. I work as a nanny and a promotional model. I am a member of Pi Beta Phi and I am passionate about volunteering and helping my community in any way possible. I love meeting new people and learning about their backgrounds and cultures. My favorite quote is "Be the change you wish to see in the world" -Gandhi :)

I am currently a Junior and Vice President of The  F.O.R.E.I.G.N.E.R.S. This will be my third year  working with International students and I look  forward to meeting and helping more. I love  meeting new people and making new friends from  around the world. I am highly involved in  International related events because I enjoy being  there for others and learning more about different  cultures. I have met some amazing students along the way and we still keep in touch to this day. It means so much to me knowing that I have made a big difference in the lives of others. I play with the ODU Women's Rugby Team. I have played the violin for seven years and I have a baby turtle.

Hi, my name is Asnal Ngartolna. I am a  Fulbright scholar from Chad (a French  and Arabic speaking country in central  Africa). Even though, I thought I was  well prepared to face my new life in US,  my experience was not easy and  smooth enough. Social and academic  experiences in US are quite  unpredictable. Hopefully, there are  people who could be delighted to assist, to befriend, to share some tips from their own experience with us in order to make our stay here be socially and academically successful. People helped me...and I want to be of help to others. Being an international student, I think I better know, now, what challenges an international student may face. Do not hesitate to contact me anytime for anything (even just to listen to you), I would do what I can or direct you to the right person... Be safe!!!

 Hey! My name is Chantel Speller. I was born and raised  in Lawrence Massachusetts. The cool thing about me is I  am a people person. I LOVE learning about different cultures and people. I desire to one day travel the world  to get a full understanding of other cultures other than  what I see on TV. I'm extremely easy to get along with  and I am trustworthy and honest.

This is my senior year and I am  majoring in international studies. I find  the world so amazing I can barely stand  it. I am enthusiastic about subjects  relating to different cultures, political  ideals, science, art, and food. I have been traveling the United States looking for fun since I was in the womb but recently started traveling abroad. I studied in France over the summer so I know how scary the experience can be—but would love to help make the US someone's home, away from home!

Greetings! My name is Christina and I have a background  in diplomatic  history, specifically 20th-Century Cold War  history with an emphasis on US-Cuba. I love to study well  beyond the textbook and have enjoyed traveling to  Europe, Russia, Eastern Europe and Cuba, although  much of the globe yet to see. I am a great cook, if you select me- I will feed you well! I also like to stay healthy  by running, cycling & swimming... although my studies ay  get in the way. I am a mother of as 12 and 7 year old and  have been married for 15 years. If you need a wise  companion, or just a friend to help show you around, I  have been at ODU and in the area for some time now!

Hey there! My name is Christine. I am a freshman studying computer engineering. My hobbies are playing volleyball, watching Korean dramas, reading manhwa, manga and reading in general. I like hanging out with friends, meeting new people, watching movies, learning new languages, and learning about other cultures. I'm a pretty approachable person and most of my friends always come to me for advice. So if you need someone to talk to or need help, feel free to contact me.

Hey fellow Monarch! This will be my first year as a Monarch Mentor and I am already learning so much from my peers. I am a third year student at ODU and this will be the second organization I am involved in. As a  unified club we can carry on the help-me- help-you attitude. Hope to make the best mentor that I possibly can and that together we can learn and grow from experience.

I am an alumnus of ODU and  currently a PhD student. I am easy going and love to make new friends, enjoy visiting different places. I work with different clubs at ODU. Soccer and basketball are my favorite sports. I have interests on photography, cooking and painting. If you are a cartoonist or love sketching/drawings then I am the person you might be interested to hang out with.

I am currently working for NATO as a member of Turkish Army. I transferred to ODU from Cyprus International University in the spring of 2012. My hobbies include playing and watching sports, novels, foreign languages, travelling, and movies. I look forward to meeting and helping more.

Hello, I'm Hany I am 26 and originally from Egypt. I am starting my 3rd year in the PhD program. I have lived on 4 continents and I speak 4 languages. I love travelling, adventures, playing sports specially soccer, racing on my motorcycle, cooking and dancing salsa!

Hello there! I'm Jasmine and I can't wait to meet you. I love meeting new people and getting to know them. I'm a fairly quiet and reserved person, but that's just before I meet someone. My biggest hobby is called “cosplay” where I work on and wear costumes of some of my favorite characters from series of all kinds. I'm currently a sophomore studying International Studies with the dream of becoming a UN ambassador someday.

I have a Bachelor’s and a Master’s in criminal justice. My goal is to become a professor and work my way up the academic ladder to provost. On campus I work as a graduate assistant for my department assisting them with tasks that are preparing me to work in academic administration.

Kumusta! I am a pre-nursing student working on an undergraduate degree with hopes of earning a Master's degree in either Nursing or Physician Assistance. :) In my free time, I like to do any & nearly all types of visual arts, but mostly painting. :D I like playing piano, even though I'm not too experienced with it. I also enjoy exercising with sports or lifting weights. :) Mostly, I love to help others, which is why I decided to become a mentor for GMC!

My name is Kim, I am soon to be 21 years old. I am first generation American, my family is from all over the Southern part of Africa. I love traveling to wonderful unique places around the world, and have been since I was a small child. I recently lived in Sevilla, Spain for 10 months and taught English of all levels to Spanish adults. I enjoy meeting people from different countries, who have unique backgrounds, and extraordinary stories to tell.

I am a 4th year undergraduate biology major planning on going to graduate school in psychology to become a clinical psychologist. I play the flute, and I like math. I also have two brothers, one of whom goes to ODU as well!

Fluent in English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi. I've studied abroad in India and travelled all over the world. I love to sing, dance, and make people laugh!

Originally from Korea, I, myself had to go through the melting pot process in the United States. Intercultural experiences can be confusing and difficult, but I can help with those problems. Furthermore, I would like to take this opportunity to expand my understandings of different cultures. I believe that understanding and experiencing different cultures are essential.

As a 2nd year student here at ODU, I've had amazing experiences. I am a double degree student with one degree being a B.S. in Women’s Studies and one being a B.S.H.S. in Public Health. My number one goal here is to see people succeed and help them on their path to success. Being involved in multiple organizations has allowed me to do that as well as get to know ODU citizens of other cultures. If you're looking to get involved, experience new things, and have fun, I'm your girl.

Starting under a tree in a village in Northern Pakistan and reaching ODU, my academic career has been quite an experience. My first year at ODU has been very enriching. I love to play different sports. Through GMC, I am looking forward to inspiring our new Monarchs and get inspired, myself.

I’m from Thailand. I’ve been to many countries and have experience with many different cultures. I have many international friends and I love spending time with international student and learning about new culture. I also love to Party, hanging out, going out to eat watching movies. Hi. I'm Rohit. I am currently doing my master's in computer science. I love meeting new people, from different cultures, and experiencing new things. I had many different interests so far: painting, gaming, martial arts (Black belt in karate, which was long ago, so I can't do a full split anymore). I spend most of my free time listening to various music genres, watching movies or anime, catching up with friends. When life permits I would like to travel the world exploring new places. I'm looking forward to having a great semester ahead by getting to know all of you.

Hi everyone, my name is Sailee (said like Miley but with an 'S') or you can remember smiley :) I was born in India (Mumbai) and came here to US with my family when I was in high school. I plan on going to dental school after my undergrad for oral surgery. Some of my interests: I love going to new places even if it's a small place like a park or some random store, and walking/hiking. One of the things on my wish list is to go skydiving! I became a part of GMC to help out people who might be going through some of the things I went through when I first came to this country, to learn from people of different cultures and of course, to make friends! I hope we have a fun and a succssful year of school together and I look forward to meeting everyone!

Hi! I chose my major because one of the things I like to do most is talk with people from other cultures. I studied in England and found out that I love traveling. When I'm not imagining the places I'd like to visit next (India, Peru?), I like to cook, shop, and watch movies. We can do things like that as well as go to events on campus. See you soon!

Hello Global Monarchs! My name is Shawn Minor and I am a senior at ODU studying International Business with an East Asian concentration and I am trying to learn to speak Mandarin. My hobbies include playing guitar  and going out with friends. My new interest is  rock climbing and I'm trying to get more into the  sport. Also, I love music and dance so I  frequently attend shows regardless of location.
