Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists (MAES) was founded in 1974 for increasing the number of Mexican Americans and other Hispanics in the technical and scientific fields.

National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), established in 1984, is dedicated to the recognition and professional advancement of Hispanics in the news industry.

The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization established in 1968 to reduce poverty and discrimination, and improve life opportunities for Hispanic Americans.

United Farm Workers (NFWA), started by Cesar Chavez in 1962 to organize farm workers in California, offers an overview of the movement and updates on current issues.

Organization of the American States (OAS), is the world's oldest regional organization, dating back 1889. Its purposes are to strengthen the peace and security of the continent; to promote and consolidate representative democracy, with due respect for the principle of nonintervention; to prevent possible causes of difficulties and to ensure the pacific settlement of disputes that may arise among the Member States; to provide for common action on the part of those States in the event of aggression, and more.

Making Face, Making Soul, a Chicana feminist homepage supported by Susana Gallardo, offers short biographies of Chicanas, Chicana poetry and literature, cultural resources, academic resources, otras chicanas on the 'net, and more.

Media Resource Center (MRC) is the UC Berkeley library's primary collection of materials in electronic non-print (audio and visual) formats on Hispanic topics, with reviews of a huge alphabetized list of films.

American GI Forum (AGIF), is dedicated to addressing problems of discrimination and inequities endured by Hispanic veterans, with more than 500 chapters in the United States and Puerto Rico.

LLEGO The National Latino/a Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender organization. LLEGÓ, the National Latina/o Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Organization, is the only national nonprofit organization devoted to representing Latina/o lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities and addressing their growing needs regarding an array of social issues ranging from civil rights and social justice to health and human services.

Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. (GLAAD) The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

Commercial Closet Commercial Closet Association works to lessen discrimination of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community by encouraging corporations and ad agencies to improve GLBT portrayals in the persuasive medium of mainstream advertising. The nonprofit project brings together journalistic reporting, critiques, visitor reviews, live video lectures, guidelines and resources. The project manages the world's only LGBT ad archive, with 1,700 adverts spanning 33 countries and 85 years.

The Blacklist which is part of this site was first posted on the web in December of 1994 on a ".edu" site.
