Upperclassmen & Graduate Students

Upperclassmen

Upperclassmen are undergraduate students who have earned a minimum of 26 credits. The following are living options for upperclassmen:

  • Ireland House
  • Powhatan Apartments
  • University Village Apartments
  • The Inn

Graduate Students

Graduate student housing is available for students who are in graduate school or are at least 21 years of age. Priority will be given to graduate students.

  • Nusbuam Apartments
  • University Village Apartments
  • Powhatan Apartments

International Connection

As an upperclassman you may live in The Inn.  The International Connection is located in The Inn, where international and American students participate in programs and activities designed to increase cultural awareness and expanding their knowledge of global affairs. United States residents serve as mentors to the international students.

Academic Year Option-Open During Holidays and Breaks

Select areas, within our residence halls and apartments, remain open during Thanksgiving, semester break and spring break, while other residence halls are closed. The 10 month period covers from the first day of check-in in August until the last day the residence halls are open for the spring semester in May. Your choices are among the following:

  • Ireland House
  • University Village Apartments
  • Powhatan Apartments
  • Nusbaum Apartments (graduate and students over 21 only)
  • The Inn

 

Students Organized and Focused on Academics (SOFA)

Select areas, within our residence halls, designated for students who are interested in residing in a quiet living environment that is highly conducive to studying.

  • Powhatan Apartments

Double Room

A room with a roommate. This is considered the traditional style in student housing.

Coed

This is where there are single sex suites on a coed floor or single sex apartments in a coed complex. For example, on a hall you may have 1 male suite next door to 1 female suite. All of our residence halls are coed except for 2 single sex wings in Whitehurst.
