Powhatan Apartments

Powhatan Apartments Powhatan I, built in 1978, and Powhatan II, built in 1982, complete a complex containing two-bedroom apartments. This complex borders the west side of campus, just a short amble from the Elizabeth River boardwalk, sand volleyball court, barbecue grills and sailing center. The apartments are also right across the street from the tennis courts.

Powhatan offers an Academic Year Option-open during breaks and holdiays to upperclassmen and graduate students.  Each apartment, housing 4 residents, is designed with a carpeted living and dining area, a full kitchen and 1 1/2 baths. Powhatan houses four students per apartment (only sophomores and up) and includes local telephone service, Internet access and cable television. All apartments are fully furnished with single beds, desks, chest of drawers, a dining table and chairs, a couch, wing chairs, coffee and end tables, trash cans and a lamp. The complex offers a central front desk, community room with a full kitchen and a study lounge, two large laundry rooms, vending machines and covered bike areas.

Residents living in Powhatan Apartments may choose any meal plan on the Student Housing Agreement, however, they are required to purchase a minimum Block 25 meal plan. Please visit the Card Center's website for an explanation of all meal plans.
