2009 Summer School Housing
Rate Information
For students who will reside in on-campus housing, a $50.00 deposit/prepayment, non‑refundable after May 1, is required. For new residents, the deposit will apply as a refundable security deposit and for returning residents, as a down payment toward room charges. The ENTIRE summer housing balance is due July 6, 2009.
VIRGINIA HOUSE*
All student classifications can live in the Virginia House
Virginia House is our summer school housing facility, unless you currently live in the University Village or Nusbaum. Select the time period/s you will need housing based on your summer school schedule and follow the online instructions

Because the 2009 - 2010 Housing and Dining Agreement for Nusbaum begins on August 1, 2009, students residing in Nusbaum for the summer and returning to their same assignment in the fall are charged for the dates up to and including July 31, 2009.
POWHATAN VILLAGE
Current Residents of Powhatan Village: Residents residing in Powhatan Village, your agreement ends on May 31, 2009 therefore, should you need summer school housing, you will need to move to the summer school housing location at the conclusion of your 2008 - 2009 agreement period.
Because the 2009 - 2010 Housing and Dining Agreement for Powhatan Village begins on August 1, 2009, students residing in Powhatan Village may move from their summer housing assignment to their fall assignment in Powhatan Village starting August 1, 2009.

Current Residents of University Village Buildings 1 & 2: Residents residing in Buildings 1 & 2, your agreement ends as of May 31, 2009. Residents living in these buildings in need of summer housing will need to move to Virginia House on May 31, 2009. Please refer to the instructions provided on the Housing website address: http://studentaffairs.odu.edu/housing/
Current Residents of University Village Buildings 3 - 10: Residents residing in Buildings 3 - 10, your agreement ends on July 31, 2009 therefore, you do not need to apply for summer school housing. Your summer rate is provided here and will automatically be applied to your account. You may also find the rates posted on the Housing and Residence Life website http://studentaffairs.odu.edu/housing/forms.shtml and click on 2008-2009 Room Rates. The information is listed below the 2009 - 2010 Room Rates.
NOTE: However, the following are items you need to know.
· If you have signed a Housing and Dining Agreement for 2009 - 2010 in the same apartment in buildings 1 - 2, you MUST MOVE OUT by May 31, 2009 and your new lease begins on August 15, 2009.
· If you have signed a Housing and Dining Agreement for 2009 - 2010 in the same apartment in buildings 3-10, you do not need to move out on July 31, 2009, however, since your agreement does not begin until August 15, 2009 you will be charged a prorated rent for August 1-14, 2009.
· If you have not signed a Housing and Dining Agreement for 2009 - 2010 your check out date is July 31, 2009. If you are taking summer school, and your class ends after July 31, you will be moved to a temporary location until your class has ended.
· If you have signed a Housing and Dining Agreement for 2009 - 2010 and plan on changing buildings, you may need to move out on July 31, 2009 and move to a temporary location until your new apartment is ready.
