Welcome to the Office of Housing and Residence Life

For the modern mind, fresh thought thrives in a charged atmosphere.  Culture meets intellect.  Art and science converge.  Knowledge seeks experience.  Confidence Grows. Understanding flourishes.

Your campus residence is much more than just a place to sleep at night.  Within the campus community, where respect and understanding are prized above all else, residents learn to exchange ideas freely, gain insights from the unique perspective of others, and learn self-reliance in a supportive environment.

Modern life is about multiplicity - the blending of ideas, points of view, cultural and ethnic influences, learned and practical knowledge.  Living on one of the most diverse campuses in Virginia, there is no end to the fascinating mix of stories you'll hear, people you'll meet, and the interests you'll share.

The Modern Mind is You.  Welcome to ODU!

Room Assignment Update

Thank you for patience during our room assignment process, the first phase of the process is complete. If a student was assigned in our first assignment process the student received an email to their odu.edu account providing instructions of how to access the assignment via the https://studenthousing.odu.edu website. The student will need their MIDAS ID and password to access the assignment.

Currently the second phase of our assignment process is beginning; the second phase includes identifying more space for students with a later application date may not have been assigned initially. Based upon our current number of applications, the Office of Housing & Residence Life plans to have students without assignments, assigned in the near future. If you have any questions about the process or would like additional assistance the Office of Housing & Residence Life is committed to helping you.

To prepare for moving to campus, please visit the move-in page to see complete information about arrival on campus. Once again, thank you and we look forward to seeing you in the fall.
