Confidentiality

All medical records and communication between patient and staff are confidential. Information cannot be released from Student Health Services without the patient's prior consent with the exception of a subpoena, a court order, and/or allergy medication information disseminated in a life threatening emergency.

Under no circumstances will patient health information be discussed outside of Student Health Services. Records containing drug or alcohol related information are protected under federal regulations (42 CFR), and can only be released via patient consent or a court order.
