Topics: Time Management

Time management is one of the most common challenges that college students must learn to deal with. If you're checking out this page, more than likely you've had similar concerns. Get ready for an electronic workshop that will start you thinking about what contributes to your difficulty. We'll then offer suggestions and tips for improving your time management skills.

Click on the links below describing the problem that sounds closest to what you're dealing with.

"I hate the idea of being tied to a schedule. It'll take away all the fun in my life!"

"I'd be better at managing my time if my friends didn't always stop in and want to talk to me."

"I have more to do in college than there is time to do it."

"I feel so overwhelmed. I don't even know where to start!"

"I just don't know where my day goes. It's like I just get started on something and zip! the day's gone! I can't get anything done."

"I know I should study more, but I don't want to miss out on going out and having fun!"

"I hate to study in the library but my home/dorm room is too loud."

"The only time I have to study is at night, but by the time I'm ready to, I fall asleep."

"By the time I write it all down, I don't have time to do it."

"I'm exhausted. Between my job, school, and my family, by the time I sit down to do my homework, I just can't concentrate."

"I start studying, but my mind wanders..."

"But there's too much to do and I don't even know where to start!"

"I manage my time ok, but if there's a big project, I always run out of time."

"I get distracted so easily."

"I can start something, but I get bored easily and want to work on something else, so I never really finish anything."

"I have so many errands and house work that needs to be done that I don't know how to fit in studying."

"I put off my work until the last minute and then have to rush to get it done."

"Some projects look too overwhelming, so I always just put them at the bottom of my 'to do' list."
