Welcome from the Executive Director Of Student Affairs And Dean Of Students
Welcome to the Division of Student Affairs at Old Dominion University. Our goal is to facilitate the kind of opportunities and experiences that will make your college experiences rich and full. We are committed to the belief that learning is a continuous process and occurs with every encounter, in the exchange of ideas, in trying something new and different and challenging yourself to grow beyond expectation!
At ODU, you will find an outstanding faculty committed to help you achieve your educational goals. In and beyond the classroom, opportunities to apply new learning await you. Whether it is through leadership in student organizations, extending a helping hand through participation in community service activities, attending PAW (Programs All Weekend), taking advantage of our Intramural and Recreational Sports program or in informal discussions and debates with roommates and other students about many of the issues affecting our community and beyond.
Immerse yourself in the rich diversity that is so much a part of the ODU community experience. As you prepare for life in the global communities of the world, take advantage of this environment to understand and develop an appreciation of the different cultures, faith traditions and lifestyles that you will encounter. The staff of the Division is here to create the spaces for you to grow and to support you in that growth when needed. Among the departments that comprise the Division of Student Affairs are Counseling, Disability Services, International Student and Scholar Services, Judicial Affairs, Multicultural Student Services, OSAL (Office of Student Activities and Leadership), Recreational Sports, Student Health Services, Student Housing Services, Student Ombudsperson Services (S.O.S.), the Women's Center and Upward Bound.
We hope to see you in the Webb Center enjoying our many and varied dining opportunities, or checking your email in the cyber café, relaxing in our lounges, playing pool in the Retro Room or just having a quiet moment over a latte.
An exciting journey as an Old Dominion Monarch awaits you.
